Award tickets and upgrades do not qualify for Qmiles so neither account will receive Qmiles.
As far as I know upgrades can only purchased from QR. Reward tickets may be purchased from QR or any other OW partner for their equivalent of Qmiles.
Since you are using Qmiles you must use QR.
TAs cannot handle reward tickets/upgrades.
