That has two downsides:
1) AA FF number isn't in the booking any more, so it won't list under your bookings on aa.com.
2) AA.com made a change to remove all your pre-filled details if you remove the AA number, which means having to enter them all again.
1 - I deal with quite readily - I have a script which enables autocomplete so my AA PNR's are remembered on the find booking page.
2 - Such is life, It's a once off when making the booking. FWIW, I prefer to have me QF platinum number in the booking from the start as it ensures I get Emerald benefits.
