I can see Uber for trips to the airport.
There are a fair amount of complaints on Thai social media re" Uber's "surge" pricing which often doubles the expected price.
I've used Uber several times with only the most recent being problematic. I could see, on the app map, the driver go right by the pickup position he requested with no car in sight - we must have been on different levels. When I then cancelled the trip a 45baht late cancellation fee was incurred which was later credited back to the account.
Once the driver had a fan-like hand sign which said 'Uber'. No doubt trying to be discreet which seems like the status quo when being picked up on Floor 2. On the departure floor it's a bit easier.
Several other times I've attempted to get Uber with no cars available.
I've yet to get hit with surge pricing from the airport but I have decided against Uber to the airport for this reason.
