I followed the advice from Three about the crew exit, but won't do that again. Perhaps I am paranoid, but had to pass at least two signs stating it was a TSA Secured Area and Prohibited Entry. As expected, no one said anything (and I was wearing shorts, clearly not crew). But still, as a Global Entry and PreCheck holder, I would hate to lose those by having a run in with a TSA rube on a power trip.
I believe those signs only apply if you're try to turn back; that hallway is basically like a checkpoint exit where anyone can leave but only authorized personnel can go the other way. TSA and AA send people through there on a daily basis, like the TCC people mentioned earlier.
