How I get the room should not be a factor? If I get the room it’s because It’s part of the benefits of being a platinum and we are entitled to them in black and white.
The Hotel is not doing me a favor by giving me the upgraded the room type, it’s part of my benefits and they are simply providing me with what I’m entitled to as stated in membership terms.
The policy is that if you are upgraded to a room type that mentions certain benefits, then you get whatever guest-facing benefits are mentioned for that room type, regardless of it being given on a complimentary basis.
If you were told anything differently, then we need to have the SPG Hotel Coordinators follow up with them...again.
