So it's a time / cost saving rationale (no queueing, no need for a self service machine to print tags etc.)
That is neat. I'd missed that completely - I presumed the e-bag would need to be programmed at a check-in counter.
Personally, I'd still prefer a good old fashioned tag for now. The chance of it failing seems (to me!) a lot lower than an e-tag, it's tried and tested and the implications of it failing would be fairly large - i.e. lost baggage.
Be really interested to see how people get on with them though.
