Indeed. One stay left in my mattress run to earn Diamond, then HR SFO airport, PH Dubai, PH Abu Dhabi next month (and PH Maldives, but that's all CC nights anyway). Did the math last year on what a MR would've cost: $1250+tax, and through a combo of CC and Hotel Promos, I would come out ahead about 25K points. Instead this year cost me $1400+tax (cash portion would've been the same except for where I chose to stay) and a reduction of ~40K points. (Will have a post on that soon)
