So long as you have redeemed the ticket from the Aeroplan account attached to the Visa card, and the flight is operated by Air Canada, you may access the lounge. Just present the Visa card.

However, since you did not use your CIBC Aerogold Visa to pay for the taxes and fees, you forfeited your automatic travel insurance coverage (except medical) that comes with the card. Why would you do that?

Yes, you may bring a guest for C$35 or C$45 per guest, depending on the entry time.
The aeroplan reward ticket is with same aerplan number but the flight is operated by Brussels Airline as i wanted to avoid fuel charges of Air Canada. So i cant use the lounge as flight is not with Air Canada ?

I paid with My Scotia Amex Card which also has travel insurance. Does travel isurance of credit cards apply even if you only pay taxes and use your frequent flier miles ? i was not able to find this information on terms and condition on my Scotia Amex. It only says as long as 75% of charges are on the card.
