Just got back from India (da*n, I can't believe I can say that!). I was mostly in hotels and offices up to Western standards but we had a rest stop on the road to Jaipur at a "squat toilet" setup. OK, I can handle that, but what bewildered me was that the holes in the porcelain plate on the floor didn't look big enough for anything-uh-solid- to go through when you flushed it. I tried to delicately phrase this question to my female colleagues and they just giggled. I'm stil glad I did not need to address this issue more directly.
