Questions:
An Air India telephone customer service representative (who I called from Canada) states they do not know how to cross-reference the files - in fact she has never heard of that term.
Is the DEL - BOM flight leaving from the domestic or international terminal in DEL?
The AI agent said that the luggage can NOT be checked through to Canada from DEL - even though the 12 hour stop in BOM is a legal international connection, not a stopover. I ask, because between the 2 of them, they will be checking 5 pieces of baggage - which would be difficult to take to the hotel in an average taxi (JW Marriott at the airport).
Are AI business class domestic and international flights' hand-carry baggage requirements any more onerous than other Star Alliance carriers?
1. All AI/Jet/Vistara flights depart from T3 in Delhi - doesnt matter domestic or international.
2. If DEL-BOM-LHR-Canada is on same ticket - they will be through checked to final destination. If DEL-BOM is a different PNR - then its difficult to convince AI to through check - though you can try your luck at Delhi counter.
3. AI is normally pretty relaxed as far as cabin luggage is concerned - so i wouldnt worry.
