I have the following miles expired in the next 6 months
Mar-16 0
Apr-16 34191
May-16 8197
Jun-16 115
Jul-16 15660
Aug-16 10481

All these miles are eligible for extension.

I understand that I can only extend 3 consecutive months when I am doing extension.

I have redemption to DPS that I need to issue by tomorrow 1pm for 12,500 miles.

I am looking for 2 options:
Option 1 -- redeem 12,500 miles tomorrow which means it will use the miles that will expire in April, and then on 30-April extend 30,003 miles (which will have new expiry date in Oct 2016??)

Assuming there is no redemption between tomorrow and end of April.

This will also means June/July I will have to deal with another miles expiry headache again.

Option 2 - renew the 42,503 miles now (which will then have a new expiry in September 2016?). Then tomorrow issue my DPS ticket. This will mean it will use the miles that will expire in July 2016.

If I redeem another ticket to CGK in May (to fly A359), I will only have miles expiry issue in September. And probably bigger issue as some of the miles are no longer extendable.

So, which option is better?
