Even if its a pure CX ticket, booked via travel agent/OTA you sometimes get 2 booking references. I recently booked an RJ ticket Travelliker HK and the booking was made in Galileo, despite RJ being on Amadeus,so I received two references.
In my case, I received a itinerary from Mytripandmore.com by e-mail which opened a link that has a PNR consisting of 6 letters. There is also a CX Reservations number in the emails from mytripandmore.com which is called a confirmation number at mytripandmore.com. When I visit CX, they seem to want the Name and CX Reservation Number and not the PNR. This was why I was asking what's the difference between the two, is one used by the airline only while the other is on the global reservations system?
