Again, I respect the privacy of others even if I don't agree with them, I'm going to repeat this: had the agent asked me politely to delete the photograph there would have been no argument from me. But I didn't like the way the situation was handled and I do not think I am wrong for having an issue with that.
Sorry - but an airline club is NOT a public place. It's a private club. Just try and enter without the appropriate membership credentials and see how far you get. As a private club, Delta gets to set the rules for what is allowed. And that is the first point to focus on.

If you took a photo of someone walking down the concourse that might be different (although the reaction you get from John Public might be the same - only then you would be dealing with the TSA and airport security if you wanted to argue about expectations of privacy and public places).

Is it possible that the tone the Sky Club attendant used was in response to your expectation that you were in the right? For future trips perhaps if you ask first and explain what and why you are taking photos you might have a better reaction.
