Thanks for the hotel advice. Despite my wanting to stay at the more luxurious hotel, the HG Inn seems to make sense given the location. I don't have enough HH points to stay both days on points, but I may do one on points, one on cash.
Suggestions? To be honest, nothing specific. I was there for about four days but it was at the beginning of Tet their national holiday and pretty much everything was closed while I was there. I did a lot of walking around the lake and French Quarter which is luckily what I enjoy doing anyway. There are plenty of spots to grab a coffee and relax or people watch for a bit and there are plenty of little streets and alleys to go exploring. Sorry for having limited ideas!
