Always got both BPs and I have never been challenged when going straight to the security checkpoint,although I have to admit I prefer to go landside and then back and then back via the Crown Class facility.Alll in all takes 15 minutes.
Transit desk is for those who missed their connections,flying on separate tix/different airlines etc,so I see this as misunderstanding.
PS:Those travelling in J/elites would be better off sorting out their BPs at the lounge,as they have the same powers,but the staff are warmer and more willing to help and they don't have 100 more people to process.
