I didn't remember until just now that I stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn for one night last spring. It's a nice hotel and well located. I drove by the JW Marriott on my way out to the mountains (I also considered staying there that's why I noticed it) and I can tell you it is far from the area I would recommend for visitors. The area near the Hilton is very convenient to the French Quarter and the nearby lake (Ho Hoan Kiem).

What did you want to do in Hanoi?
