I read it as a further reason why the slightly reclined seat was even more of a hazard in his opinion. Any recline in the seat in front makes it that much more difficult to get out from the window seat. Add in an overweight person with mobility issues and it exacerbates the problem. That's how I took it - that even if the FA's thought it wasn't that bad for himself, the condition of the window seat pax should have made it even more of an issue.
