I am assuming checkin or gate has the ability to seat people in middle seat? Twice I've had someone in middle-seat, I assume with a boarding pass saying so. However, FA observed it an rearranged cabin on one occasion. It typical happens when 2 people wants to sit together, and there is no AC or DF combo free.
