On my first flight on BA after reaching silver out of Heathrow, I was given a very nice "welcome to silver" speech just after we had taken off, this I was not expecting and it did bring a smile to my face.

On my partners first flight after reaching silver out of Gatwick, the same welcome was not forthcoming. Nearing the end of the flight, I mentioned to one of the FA's that I was surprised but delighted to of been given a warm welcome and asked if this was random or do all new silvers receive the same courtesy.

The FA replied and said that she was not sure how they do it at Heathrow but the welcome out of Gatwick is only for Gold.
