Skip the Pera Palas. The place is a mess. The only worthwhile thing was stealing a salt shaker.

There were a few cool features of the hotel (the cage elevator, the balconies, the huge bathrooms (but not updated and leaky)), but overall not worth staying there. We actually ended up moving to the Hyatt...
