The flight was still a couple of hours away so there were no time issues.

My gripe was simply the fact that I had asked, they had said it was fine, and that they had then admitted him without raising any concerns.

Had they told me he couldn't have access I would have been fine with it, but when they let him in and then changed their mind I felt pretty bad about the way it was dealt with.
