1) you want to sit as close to the front of the aircraft from YYZ as possible.

2) If your lucky you will come in at the 40s or 50s gates. The 1-11 is a much farther walk.

3) make sure you do not leave the secure area. If at the 1-11 gates you will have to walk around to the newer section, if in the new section 40-50s off the jet way follow the signs to US connections. it leads to a hallway which takes you to customs. If you do check bags you do not have pick them up, the CBP agent will ask you to identify them on a screen.

After that you will be in the transborder area. Some of the gates are quite a hoof, but all my Florida connections were no more than a gate or two away from the entrance.

And yes there is a nexus line at transborder in YUL. and GE Kiosks as well
