Okay, so when I first made Gold last year I tried some JW Blue in GF at T5 and I have to say I didn't like it at all, it was harsh and gave me a real burning sensation to the point where I couldn't finish it, it just tasted awful. I am a moderate whisky drinker too but usually enjoy cheaper day to day brands like Famous Grouse (or JW red on a domestic)
Last week I was passing through GF with a mate and he really wanted to try it so I gave it another go and it was a completely different drink, silky, smooth and I enjoyed every sip and taste.
Both times I had one ice cube and both times I'd drunk a few glasses of Tattinger before so maybe a more experienced whisky drinker can tell me.... Is there a personal reasoning it tasted so different or, as I suspect was there a cheaper substitute in the JW Blue bottle
