Hertz does have an advantage over National, Avis, or Sixt in terms of frequent flyer miles and promotions. A daily rental with Hertz gives 500 Aeroplan miles which is pretty good if you have a low rate.

I remember when Hertz gave 1,000 bonus Aeroplan miles in spring 2015. For a one-day weekend FCAR rental of under US$30, I got 1,500 miles per rental - an eye-watering 2 CPM.
