Oh dear. I was due to stay there tomorrow for 2 nights and just got an email from SPG saying that 'in an unforeseen move' Kamp has ceased to be part of SPG. So I just called and cancelled. There are better hotels cheaper in Helsinki and it was only that my dozen or so nights a year helped me retain platinum that made me continue to stay there. Anyway, they told me they're now part of the 'Leading Hotels' group and I wished them luck but told them I would now go elsewhere.

Of greater concern to me is that SPG are now down to one hotel in Scandinavia where I travel most. It may just be time to move elsewhere with my loyalty scheme unless they hurry up with the Marriott tie up and merge the programmes...
