Yup. Now where its gets sneaky is when you take, say, a 747 or a 777 on a trans-oceanic "segment", and at SEA, SFO, or wherever, it gets swapped out for a domestic plane. On the same flight number. With you getting off the aircraft, going through Customs, etc. That is still considered to be one segment.
