I travel quite often to BsAs, am street smart (Grew up in NYC, live in Los Angeles) and nothing has ever happened to me. But a Buddy (a prominent Winemaker in Mendoza did tell me an acount of him being robbed of his Rolex at Gunpoint while at a Cafe in Recoleta (so it even happens from time to time to the Nationals as well) This is not specifically an Argentina thing, it happens world wide these days. But the link is specific to issues in BsAs and Argentina..

Thanks and Safe Travels
Cheers for the piropo

Safety/Security-wise, I always find the UK Foreign Office's Travel Advices very accurate: https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/argentina
