I had a great chat with a crew member on LHR-JFK who had an Israeli flag on his badge. He turned out not to speak any more than a few words of Hebrew, and told me he was not Jewish but attended a Jewish primary school in Liverpool, and from that had a great affinity for Israeli and Jewish culture. Whilst that explanation went down well with me and probably a good number of pax on that route, I do wonder if it was really a tactic to get him out of some of the less fun routes to the Gulf!
