Its a tradeoff... Dealing with pesticides versus introducing pests to new climes with the potential to disrupt the entire food chain, causing much, much more damage. Don't forget that everything in this world is toxic, depending on the dose received (12.8L of water a day will kill you, too). With such a small dose being applied, I'm sure that there is no observable effect level on humans.
