Well I fear the ignominy of BA Gold will continue a little while longer, unless you've been slow to update your profile. 5K TPs is now (and has been for a year) the qualification amount for GGL, 3K TPs is the requalification amount. But yes if you earn the points inside your year end it will count. For a few seconds only, then they'll take them away again.
