Admission time here, but I have a clear recollection when I applied to be BA cabin crew (admittedly back in 1997) that it was a core part of the process. Interview 4 of 5 was the foreign language interview, and it ran a streak of fear among many.
When BA stopped being the world's favorite airline, and became a local airline for local people.
