No status on DL here.

I paid for a preferred seat. When looking at the seat map again, I got a good offer to upgrade to F ($160 on a transcon). If I take that, do I forfeit what I paid for the preferred seat? Or can I apply it to the F upgrade (or get it refunded)? I called in and the agent said the value would be lost. Is she right?
