Sounds like you may have been in Delta One on a 76D. Indeed, that can be a less comfortable experience vs. the 333 that DL uses for ATL-HNL.
I just checked that route out of curiosity, and the cheapest RT rate now seems to be 217.5k miles, with many dates pricing at 500k. Yeah, that's cray-cray. Glad it wasn't like that when I made the trek last year.
