Many hotels have charges for making local calls that seem a bit ridiculous. Easy to avoid if you want to - just go to the lobby and use a phone card. Okay, you might only save $1 or so, but it feels like a victory over the establishment.

However, I vaguely seem to recall hearing of hotels that charge for receiving calls. Has anyone had this happen?
