To please a party of two where one prefers meat and potatoes and the other is more adventurous, it's hard to do better than the Café Campagne, the informal restaurant run by the people who run Campagne. They specialize in comfort foods such as steak and fries, but prepsred magnificently.

CaféCampagne and its fancier brother are a half-block from Pike Place Market, in The Inn at the Market hotel (which is one of the best place to stay in Seattle, incidentally).
