The stopover in Paris was permitted on the BEY fare because it was less than 24 hours. I called again today and spoke with a very knowledgable agent. He processed the change very easily. New ticket already received by email. The best advice that I have read many times on here is to hang up and call again.
Very happy for you.
Please note that "stopover" usually refer to a stop of more than 24 hours. Airlines regard a stop of less than 24 hours as a transit not a stopover in their jargon (and FT's). The pricing with a stopover is usually more expensive than with a simple transit.
Are you saying that you just paid the USD300 change penalty and you got changed to a ticket to SVO with a stopover in CDG (stop of more than 24hrs)?
