I booked a flight for me, my niece and her mother. We have since found out that the child will not get a visa because her father is not travelling (middle east country). I would like to change the ticket to different dates and destination. However, the website only permits changes to the same destination for different dates. I have found a ticket for even less than what I paid for the original. The change fee is high (300 pp) but it's better than losing the ticket.

However, I cannot find anyone who can process the change correctly. I have called the elite desk in Paris, the Plat service line in Germany, AF web support in the US. They can only process the change at a very high fare - in full fare Y for the return. I even had web support try to make the new reservation online and they saw the N,L,L,N configuration but cannot make it work when trying to change my ticket.

Is there another avenue I should pursue to process this? It has to be possible but I just haven't figured out how.
