Why's that?

ETA: I just priced out EUG-SEA-LAX in a couple of weeks, and there are options that cost about the same as the EUG-LAX non-stop, flying on AA marketed AS operated codeshares. Since the DEN flight is on a different day, changing the EUG-LAX flight shouldn't break the LAX-DEN fare, so I see no reason why the OP would need to cancel the entire thing and rebook it.
