I am booked to fly EUG-LAX on a first class P fare and then LAX-DEN a few days later on an S fare — all on the same ticket.
Now, I need to leave EUG-LAX a few days earlier, and I don't like the late time of AA's nonstop flight, so I'm hoping to switch onto an AS routing earlier in the day through PDX or SEA.
What is the most cost effective way of doing this? From what I can tell, I can do one of the following:
1) Cancel the first leg (EUG-LAX), keep LAX-DEN only, and then book on AS. I'd rather book on AS since I credit all their miles to my AF account. But is there a way on AA of canceling the first leg of a trip only?
2) Try and change the first leg to the AS routing I want but on the same AA ticket. But is this possible? No AS flights show up when I try to change online.
3) Cancel the whole thing, rebook EUG-LAX on AS, and then book whatever airline I want for LAX-DEN.
I would appreciate any of your suggestions.
Your
only choice is cancelling the whole thing, then re-booking what you want with any associated change fee applied.
