All excellent advice, except for this one: whatever you do, do NOT take the circular bus. The walking distance is not great, it's indoors and on one level, and you can use one of the no-charge luggage trolleys.
When you reach the RER station area, if you have trouble with the ticket machines, there is a RATP sales office where you can buy tickets or one of the unlimites tickets such as the
Paris Visite Card.
Also, because you are arriving on a Monday morning, the ATMs may be depleted of cash. If this is the case, you could use a credit card for the RER ticket, then obtain Euros from an ATM in central Paris.
