Ubud, Bali, Indonesia
We hailed an Uber from Kuta to Ubud which cost 130,000IDR, considering a taxi is 300-400, this is a pretty good deal. The drive is 1.5 to 1.75h each way. We arrived at our home-stay and went exploring. We hit up the Tropical View Cafe on Monkey Forest Rd and then hit the hay for the evening. The following day we spent the afternoon in the Sacred monkey forest and walking around Ubud. For our final day in Ubud our home stay owners proposed a guided tour of Ubud for 400,000IDR. We accepted and spent the day at the various temples and visited the local waterfall. We finished our final evening in Ubud at the Chill Out bar & Restaurant also on Monkey Forest Rd.

Upon Arrival in Ubud we proceed to walk down Anila Gang (small laneway) to find our home stay tucked in among many. Our Host Kadek greeted us and showed us to our private room. The rooms are very modern looking, nice, spacious. The only downside is the lack of AirCon. Although this is common in Ubud and one does get used to the ceiling fan. As there are no big box hotels in Ubud (probably for the best), this helps to immerse you into the local culture. The advantage of DenDen Mushi is that you have a private exterior room so you can have your privacy or sit out side on the terrace and interact with Kadeks family and other travelers. The breakfast served daily is Delicious and made to order. Overall I would HIGHLY recommend this homestay for those staying in the area!
