Overall experience/any other comments:
The ferry Departure at this time of the year is 7:15am. The access to the terminal and boarding was all very smooth and it was not very difficult to find an open table. The ferry to Santorini Stops in 2 other ports en route and on our trip was very smooth. The Delos is a very large vessel so any sway from the Ocean was minimal even sitting in the front. Overall she was a great boat, travel was smooth and timely, and we got some pretty good pictures of the islands.

Return JTR-ATH
Approx 2 months before setting of on our trip I had purchased an AE flight from JTR to ATH. The flight for 2 was approx 110$ Canadian (cheaper then the ferry, and much more efficient). We decided to go this route as we knew ferries could be delayed or worst in the winter and considering this was an unprotected side trip on our larger mini-rtw, we decided to go with it. A few weeks later we where hit by a schedule change offering minute connection to our main ticket. After some research we found that Ryanair was offering a 10 Euro trips on flights within Europe. We promptly requested a refund for our AE flights and booked the Ryanair Flights. A total of
36$ Canadian for 2 people offered exceptional value compared to ~125$ Canadian for the ferry for 2.

Overall experience/any other comments:
This was a very short flight ~30 minutes. The overall experience versus the price was phenomenal. We had very low expectations for Ryanair and viewed this as a cheap and efficient way to get from point A to point B and they did not disappoint. Its interesting how you can check in a week in advanced and have all you need to get on-board while most legacy airlines restrict this process to T-24h or less. Other interesting efficiencies is the front and rear loading, as well as an indication on your boarding card of which entrance to use. Suddenly being in the last rows is not so bad!
