When is the status effective for the purpose of bonus miles?

I have done a MR on Feb 28 and 29 to take AAdvantage (ba-dum-tss) of my platinum status that would be gone by Mar 1.

However, the bonus miles were only posted correctly for the domestic flights (which seem to have been posted quicker, on the 29 itself)—however, the long haul flights are the last ones on the list, and I tend to believe they were posted on Mar 1 when I had already become a lowly gold and only list a bonus of 25%.
I have already contacted customer service about this and I'm hoping they will fix this quickly.

Now, this "episode" it got me thinking that AA's system might not be so smart to credit the miles based on the date of the flight.
I'm flying ORD-MIA-EZE in a few weeks and I will become platinum right after the ORD-MIA flight...

So, my question here is: will AA give me 100% bonus miles for the MIA-EZE even though I will qualify for status on that very day? What have people's experiences been?

Thanks.
