Ubud:
KanaNe Mua Villas (Monkey Forest)

This is right down the street from the Monkey Forest. Very quiet and beautiful place and within walking distance to all the places to eat. The offer a complimentary shuttle. We really enjoyed the villa with the pool.

Seminyak:
Pradha Villas

If I remember correctly this place was less than 5 minutes walk to the beach and maybe 8 minutes walk to Potato Head Beach Club. It was about 8 minutes walk to the "food street" with all the restaurants.

I believe both are within the $200-300 price range. I think what I did was booked each night individually and used the Travelocity promotion where they'd knock off $75 from a $300+ reservation (only worked for non-chain hotels). So I used a different email address for each night and saved a ton of $$$. Then emailed the hotel to have them merge the reservations. Not sure what promos are going on now for travel sites like Orbitz, Travelocity, etc...

Highly recommend doing at least 1 day with a tour guide who can drive you to all the places around Ubud. We have used Made Real Bali Tours and have now had at least 8 friends use him as well. Tell him Brent sent you! ^
