In part it depends on how big your are. NZ's economy seats are a bit narrow. If anyone in the row is large, it will be uncomfortable.


Personally I think they have one of the better Economy products out there. I'm guessing you are American since you are leaving from SFO. In my opinion, NZ economy is miles ahead of US carriers like Delta. IFE, food and service are all better.


We once bought a sky couch at a discount to guarantee an empty middle seat. We both think PE is better and fly PE whenever we can.



PE in the 777-200 is different than the 777-300. You should check the equipment for the flight you are on. The -200 has conventional seats and The 777-300 has the space seats. We love the space seats but others hate them. . . .



I've only flown with NZ Premium Economy on the 777-300 and the old 747s. Can't give you a first hand report of PE on a 777-200.
