BOS has had a few widebodies show up as ATL-BOS-ATL turns being 76L, 333, 764. When the 2nd AMS-BOS 764 flight ended in October that a/c ferried to JFK. I don't think there are many positioning flights that take passengers, just upgauges if need be.

ETA: I guess not so weird as I didn't realize DL still operates PDX-NRT; presumably this aircraft is in PDX in part for that reason? Although the NRT flight lands at PDX at 15:15 and the JFK flight takes off from PDX before that, so maybe it's not actually related.
PDX's 76Ls are rotated in by means of AMS-PDX-NRT-XXX and VV, where XXX is a group of routes out of NRT to TPE, SIN, BKK
