That said, if one doesn't care about DL miles or status, this might not be relevant.
I suspect it's not relevant to the OP but it would be relevant for many potential passengers considering flights from LAX to GRU and vv. SkyTeam alliance people based in the USA are very likely to particulate in DL's program rather than KE or some other partner that is more generous in awarding credit for KE flights. My argument that this would be one factor causing me to expect this flight to be cheap.
