I just saw that Flying Blue is running a promotion on miles purchasing which gives a 50% bonus for any purchase of 30,000 miles or more. For example purchasing 150,000 miles (100,000 plus 50,000 bonus) results in a cost of 2,750 EUR.

Does it make sense to buy miles under these conditions to get a cheaper price on tickets and/ or upgrades? I would mainly use those miles to either purchase an award ticket in Business Class from France to the US and back or to upgrade a ticket into Business.

Or is the price still too high to not make this worthwhile?
