I find $45 to be hugely expensive. Of course, compared to London it is a bargain.

When I typically arrive at JFK it is late enough in the evening that there is no traffic. At those times, I would far prefer a metered trip into the city.

Boston has the worst fares, however: before you have even left airport property, the meter might have clicked past $10.00.
