You are getting an *excellent* price from EWR to SFO for a transcon.
Is the upgrade worth $400? It's certainly a lot cheaper than the standard UG rates for lie-flat seats internationally.
But. It's a 6 hour flight. That works out to $65/hour to sit up front, plus a little extra for the meal, which is more than I get paid for my day job. For these $65, you get a lot more legroom and better video, and better access to the loo.
Is that worth $65/hour to you?
There's more to it than that...
Will the extra comfort make the op more productive upon arrival?
Are there bags to check in? Will the BF seat save money there? Will the expedited bag service save time?
Does the op want/need Club access?
